Work History

Trainee Claims Handler

GR123 Limited (formerly MCE Insurance Company)
10.2022 - Current
  • After getting employed for the job, I started working in customer service, which at the time was extremely important given the inheritance of all claims due to the company going into administration. I enhanced customer satisfaction by promptly addressing concerns and providing accurate information.
  • Subsequently, I've now dealt with motor claims more in-depth thanks to the use of a variety of skills that I have used, including critical thinking, time management, and adaptability to the job.
  • I've been assisting my colleague with the sometimes-complex claims made by the Motor Insurers' Bureau. This involves an understanding of Article 75, the untraced drivers' agreement, and the uninsured drivers' agreement.
  • My key responsibility has been to review the insurance coverage of all policies and identify and evaluate claims for fraud and misrepresentation.
  • I worked on a salvage project where I had to ensure that claims with outstanding salvage were investigated, resolved and settled. I managed to settle and close off the salvage aspect of more than 500 claims, which was an excellent outcome.
  • Training with Kennedy's solicitors on Personal Injury cases and some understanding of the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) and official Injury claims portal.
  • Since, I have demonstrated exceptional skills in my work, I have been given full responsibility to act as the recipient of all new claims received (the first notice of loss). Part of my role includes reviewing whether there is a policy in force and, most importantly, conducting background checks, AML tasks, and assessing the validity of new claims for potentially fraudulent activity. Because of this, I have been able to reject a lot of claims and preserve the integrity of the insurance system, preventing an operational risk and further financial loss.

Counting Agent/Overseer

HM Government Of Gibraltar
10.2023 - 10.2023

I was sent to one of the counting rooms on the night of the Gibraltar general elections of 2023, where my duty was to oversee the counting process. This required me to carefully monitor which ballots were legitimate, invalid, or subject to adjudication. This made sure that the process was carried out justly.

Work Experience

Royal Gibraltar Police
07.2020 - 08.2020
  • Having the opportunity to work within the Royal Gibraltar Police, permitted me to comprehend how such department operates, how to combat crime, and ultimately how they attend crime scenes.
  • I always shared my judgement with the other detectives working within the criminal investigation department (CID).
  • The police detective I was collaborating with went into great detail about identifying suspicious behaviour and how to deal with it.
  • I maintained strict confidentiality through the careful and correct discourse of information.
  • In fact, agreeing to and signing the secrecy act (2011) was a prerequisite.

Junior Assistant

GIBFIBRESPEED
05.2019 - 09.2019
  • Installed wiring, cabling and devices to establish, repair and improve network operations.
  • Installed and repaired network fibre optic cables, Ethernet cables and other networking cabling and conduits.
  • Evaluated local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) performance data to verify availability and speed, identifying network problems.
  • Worked closely with team members to deliver project requirements, develop solutions and meet deadlines.
  • Prioritised and organised tasks to efficiently accomplish service goals.
  • Configured hardware devices and software settings to optimize network performance.
  • Welcomed guests and clients in upbeat and friendly manner.
  • Ultimately, diligently reading and presenting copy of contract to customers.
