- Upon graduating from University in June 2021, I began my career in the financial sector with Abacus Financial Services Limited, progressing rapidly from Associate to Senior Associate within two years due to my dedication and professional growth. In my current role, I oversee financial reporting for some of the firm’s largest clients, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific regulations and accounting standards while meeting tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
- Financial Reporting: Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts for a diverse range of clients across various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to international accounting standards and local regulations (including Insurance and Crypto clients). I have gained extensive experience dealing with audits, ensuring well organised supporting documentation to support an efficient audit process. I am experienced in preparing monthly management accounts recognising accruals, prepayments and Capex along with full balance sheet item reconciliations.
- Payroll Management: Manage payroll processing for clients who have outsourced this function, ensuring compliance with Gibraltar legislation and internal controls.
- Software Proficiency: Gained extensive experience using Excel, Viewpoint and SAGE 50 utilising these tools for journal entries, financial reporting and analysis.
- Client Relationship Management: Currently responsible for managing key client accounts, maintaining high-level relationships, and delivering high-quality financial services on time.
- Revenue Growth & Talent Acquisition: Played a project manager role in an initiative to increase company revenue as a result of an opportunity I identified from internal data analysis. After being given authority to negotiate with clients, I have negotiated some of the best Accountancy fees in the companies history. I have also attracted skilled talent to the company, showcasing my proactive mindset by having spearheaded the development of the Professional summer student campaign.
- AI Committee Member: An active contributor to the company’s Artificial Intelligence Committee, exploring innovative solutions to optimise internal processes and improve operational efficiency, particularly using Microsoft CoPilot 365.
